The Delhi–Dehradun Expressway opened in April 2026, cutting the drive from 5–6 hours to about 2.5.
Rail to the mountains
The Rishikesh–Karnaprayag rail line is under construction, with a December 2028 target.
A ropeway to Mussoorie
A 5.5 km ropeway from Dehradun will cut the trip to Mussoorie from 1.5 hours to about 15 minutes. Target: end of 2026.
